This motel offers complimentary bicycles for use during the day, which is awesome. They are single-speed beach cruisers with coaster brakes, so don't expect much, but more than sufficient for going down State St (which is a pleasant ride because several blocks in downtown are closed to cars) to Stearns Wharf and exploring the area like Shoreline Park and Chase Palm Park. Bikes come with locks but not helmets. I liked the bike theming for the keychain and deck pillows too. It's not far from the city center (10 minute walk). 30 minutes from the train station/ beach. The rooms are pretty standard for a motel. The window in my room was weirdly structured and let some air/sound through, but it wasn't very noisy.

Really great stay. Our room was spacious and cozy, and very clean. The beds were super comfortable. Quiet building - you did not have loud partying like you might find at other hotels. We had a cozy bench just outside our room, with a view of the hill across the way where Castillo and Cliff meet and then south of there. There's also a main sundeck in front, upstairs, with plenty of cozy outdoor seating to enjoy a drink and the views and weather. 5 minute walk to the marketplace and the Arlington. Cantwell's, a great local market, is just kitty-corner. You are close enough to the main area of State Street to walk or bike, but not so close where you get the crowds and noisiness. And speaking of which, The Presidio offers free use of 10-12 beach cruiser bikes to go around town. The staff are super friendly, available, and accommodating. My brother and I are headed back up in June for another round of fishing off the islands and a cozy stay.

The Presidio Motel is located on State St in Santa Barbara. Its about a skip away from the beach and plenty of shopping. The motel itself is no more than 12-15 rooms in total. Its nothing fancy but it is cozy and clean. Plus the price couldn't be beat. The staff is most helpful and very friendly. They have a sundeck on the top floor which also leads to the rooms. Free bike rentals from 9am-6pm for guests who are staying at The Presidio. The only thing I can think of that would bother someone is the noise from the street at night. There isn't much of a sound barrier in the room because the windows are made glass which rotate. You can hear cars pass by and people walking to their rooms which could be annoying to some. But other than that, I would definitely stay here again! !!!

I will not hesitate to call the Presidio first. I cannot praise them enough. You can rest at ease making reservations here. They are very nice and accommodating if you have any delays checking in. Thank you Presidio for making my stay stress free.

We had an excellent stay there. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed the outdoor deck and loved that they even had some bicycles for their guests to use if we wanted to. Super cool staff members and very lovely place. I would definitely recommend. It was also close to town and withing walking distance from many churches, shopping and even a park.

One of the most affordable places in town, at least in high occupancy season. I actually really liked it even though it looks motel-ish. Rooms are spacious, high ceiling, they come with heaters (wall and individual) and AC. My wall heater was broken but the other one worked so good that we didn’t care. It is a bit old, and the shower and bathroom is outdated, but not big deal. It is really clean. Free parking (appreciated!). If you need an affordable place this is your spot. Clean, spacious, parking but just a bit outdated.

We were delightfully surprised at this hotel when we checked in. While the building is older everything is very well kept. There were many little touches to make you feel at home. The room and bathroom were large and very clean. Being located on State Street it was convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. The deck had very nice patio furniture where we sat each afternoon having our glass of wine. We are planning another trip to Santa Barbara soon and will definitely stay here again.

We spent two nights in the Presidio and loved it. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I loved the high ceiling and the bathroom was good too. The gentleman on reception was very cheery and welcoming. We were able to get ice from reception. Personally I loved the decking area which was great for a spot of reading or sunbathing. Location wise it's a fair walk into town but an interesting one. If you walk in the opposite direction there's a grocery outlet and Pasta Pronto. Santa Barbara is wonderful to explore, especially the bird sanctuary. It was a great place to stay.

Absolutely great spot, great value - got my free of charge bike ride from this place. It was perfect! Definitely will keep this hotel in mind for the next visit! Very close to downtown area & the beach. Thanks a lot!

Super cute! Very kind and helpful staff, the bed was like clouds, and the room was cute and tidy! Also was very affordable especially for a last minute (literally day of) booking. Thank you guys will be returning 100%!!!!
